Delivered to #Battle #East Sussex this morning. This cabinet was originally a radiator/console table kinda thing I made back in 2018(See last photo). My clients moved house and wanted it converted to a usable cabinet for storage. It came out pretty nice!
This is #Tulipwood stained to look like Walnut and it’s quite convincing. The handles are Walnut.

This was an unusual job. I had to replace a new cabinet only completed a month ago. Unfortunately it was really poorly made and fitted. The person who did it took the money, didn’t complete the job and was never to be seen again!
I won’t name and shame, but there’s a cowboy ‘furniture maker’ / ‘Carpenter’ loose in the Rye area.
So it got ripped out and I made a new one to the clients specifications. ✌️

This workshop project has been on my mind for a long time, so it was time to spend some after hours time making them.
Japanese style saw horses. So much nicer than those metal flop out leg ones that wobble about. Really solid, some nice joinery that was really enjoyable to do. Redwood with a bit of oak. I highly recommend you make some tomorrow! 🫵

Just over a year ago I designed, built and fitted the cocktail cabinet shown in the second photo. 🍸
This week I returned to create a complementary cabinet, built in exactly the same style to complete the space. The worktop will be fitted by the client, but everything else was designed, handcrafted and spray finished here in the SBT Design workshop.
It’s always a pleasure to return to previous clients and see a project evolve over time.
What do you think of the finished look?

This was a fun #shelving job in #Maidstone. Zero fixings on show all hidden. Recessed within the back edge. Bit of a challenge, but I got the look I was going for. Very floaty! Oak veneered with solid oak lipping and an #Osmo #hardwaxoil finish. #customwoodwork ✌️

Freshly installed in Beckenham yesterday.
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of watching a custom piece fit perfectly into its new home. This bookcase was built using premium birch plywood, finished with solid maple lipping, and features a subtle walnut inlay for that extra touch of detail.

Over the last 18 months I have been building a new workshop. Today the joinery is complete (excluding the painting). Still a long way to go and it’s been so much fun and challenging at times. The doors and windows are worth making in into the main feed! ✌️

Fitted corner kitchen bench with built-in storage.
Made from birch ply and finished in Tikkurila paint and lacquer. We also added custom door fronts to complete the surrounding storage and tie everything together.
A practical solution that keeps the space feeling calm, organised and made to last.

A solid European oak bench seat, made to sit alongside a dining table I built for this client 12 years ago.
Designed to match the original piece and finished in Osmo hard wax oil to let the grain and craftsmanship speak for themselves.
It’s always a pleasure revisiting earlier work and adding something new that feels like it’s always belonged.
